Postal Information
Over the past several years the post
office has been aggressively updating their mailing equipment and
revising standards to give greater postage discounts to those mailers
who are designing mail to utilize this equipment. Two major
changes appear on our horizon. The first is an increase in postage costs on May 12, 2008,
and the second is the Move Update standards
that will begin applying the Standard A (Bulk) mail on November 23,
2008.
May
12th Postal Increase
On May 12th, the Postal Service
adjusted prices for mailing services - First-Class Mail, Periodicals,
Package Services, and Special Services.
A First-Class Mail stamp is now $ .42. To download a PDF of the new postage
rates click here. Need

Move
Update Requirements
Effective November 23,
2008, the Postal Service is increasing its efforts to improve the
percentage of deliverable mail by revising Move Update standards.
Currently in force for First Class bar coded mail, after November
23rd, these standards will apply to Bulk (Standard A) Mail too.
